Laurie has over 18 years of experience in the education field, and currently works for Eden II Programs as a Clinical Coordinator for students with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder). She holds has a MS in Education and Special Education from Touro University and a BA in Psychology from SUNY Stony Brook and is in the process of earning her Certificate of School Building Leadership. Laurie has presented on various topics involving Applied Behavior Analysis and teaching strategies in New York and New Jersey and was the recipient of IAC’s “Shining Star” award in 2017.

NYSED- APPROVED THE NEEDS OF CHILDREN WITH AUTISM
The New York State Education Department requires all teachers who are seeking initial or professional state certification in Special Education to take a three-hour workshop in The Needs of Children with Autism. This workshop covers definitions, etiology, prevalence, characteristics, evidence-based instructional methods/interventions, behavior management, and positive behavioral supports, effective collaboration, and resources and supports relating to autism. DASA-HARASSMENT, BULLYING, CYBERBULLYING, AND DISCRIMINATION IN SCHOOLS: PREVENTION AND INTERVENTION
This workshop reviews the social patterns of bullying, discrimination, and harassment, including those acts based on but not limited to race, color, weight, national origin, ethnic group, religion, religious practice, disability, sexual orientation, gender, or sex through hands-on, thought-provoking group and individual activities that offer insight and application into the Dignity Act. Certification electronically submitted to the TEACH system upon successful workshop completion.

Jennifer Nenmar-Asprocolas is an experienced school administrator currently serving as a middle school principal in New Jersey. In the past, she has served in the roles of Anti-Bullying Coordinator (K-12), elementary principal, Department Chair of Art, Music and World Language, Gifted and Talented teacher, special education teacher and elementary school teacher. Jennifer has been teaching the DASA course since 2019 and enjoys inspiring future educators and school staff members to be a champion for every child.
