Students, who at the time of applying, do not have a proof of English language proficiency but are otherwise admissible to the college, may apply for conditional admission. English language proficiency requirement must be met by taking the institutional TOEFL exam offered at the college and submitting the required score.

How to apply for conditional admission to the College of Staten Island/CUNY
Please complete the English Language Institute application and submit it along with a $100 application fee. For more information, please contact ELI at elistudy@csi.cuny.edu
If you wish to apply as a first year undergraduate student to the college, we require the following documents to be submitted:
- Application
- Non-refundable application fee of $65
- Copies of secondary school records
- Photocopy of certified translation of all academic records that are not in English
If you wish to apply as an undergraduate transfer student to the college, we require the following documents to be submitted:
- Application
- Non-refundable application fee of $70
- Copies of secondary school records with a proof of graduation
