It's the Time of the Season

“It’s the Time of the Season” is an interactive public event presented by Prem Krishnamurthy and Sam Rauch, Department of Transformation (DOT).

Amid a deepening crisis of isolation and loneliness, how might art and design function as ways of reconnecting at both individual and communal scales? In this participatory talk, Prem and Sam frame how art and design can prototype new formats for togetherness, learning, and collective healing.

Sharing a selection of references, strategies, and methods, DOT will provide tools for others to adapt and use. The talk’s experimental format itself plays with ways of bringing people together in unexpected ways. Audience participation is encouraged.

This event is sponsored by the Department of Media Culture, the College of Staten Island, and Social Practice CUNY. Refreshments and snacks will be provided by the Office of the Dean of Humanities, College of Staten Island.
