Have you always wanted to start an exercise program but haven't known where to start? Well the Sports and Recreation Center offers plenty of opportunities to get started through its Group Fitness Program.
A variety of classes are offered during the day, evening and weekends. This includes aerobic classes (Step, Hi Low, Aqua, Double Step, Kickboxing), mind/body classes (Yoga, Tai Chi, Dahnhak), strength conditioning classes (Body Sculpt, Abdominals, Body Resistaball Bar), combination classes (Step and Tone, Easy Stretch, and Aerobics) and specialty classes (Salsa, Boot Camp). In addition, from time to time, master classes and workshops are offered as well (Women's Self Defense, How to Use the Weight Room, etc).

The College of Staten Island Sports and Recreation Center offers a multitude of facilities and programs to students, faculty and staff. Amenities include a 25 meter, 8 lane swimming pool; a 14,400 square foot main basketball arena; 8,640 square foot auxiliary gymnasium; two fully equipped fitness centers; two indoor racquetball courts; a quarter mile outdoor track; two soccer fields (grass and turf); outdoor basketball and handball courts; three intramural softball fields; and a baseball & softball stadium.
