CSI Submission of Grants Policy and Process
It is the policy of CSI that all grant submissions must have approval of both the Chair of the Department and the respective Dean.
In light of the frequent occurrence of multiple RFP deadlines in the same time window and the staffing situation in the Office of Sponsored Programs and Research (OSPR), the schedule below must be followed for all grant submissions:
At least 3 WEEKS BEFORE THE SUBMISSION DEADLINE
- PI submits completed pre-proposal checklist packet to OSPR (completed Pre-Proposal Cover Sheet, project summary and draft budget)
5 BUSINESS DAYS (1 WEEK) BEFORE THE SUBMISSION DEADLINE
PI uploads all proposal elements except for final abstract, references, and project narrative
Final documents to be uploaded include:
- Budget Justification
- CVs/biosketches
- Current and pending support
- Facilities documents
- Postdoctoral mentoring plans
- Letters of commitment
- Supplemental Documents, etc.
- Final budget categories and amounts must be uploaded with other documents
2 BUSINESS DAYS BEFORE THE SUBMISSION DEADLINE
Final documents to be uploaded:
- Proposal Narrative
- Summary and/or Abstract
- References
- 2 BUSINESS DAYS BEFORE THE SUBMISSION DEADLINE
OSPR submits the proposal to the sponsor
1 BUSINESS DAY BEFORE SUBMISSION DEADLINE
- OSPR checks for any submission errors and works with PI on corrections
- OSPR resubmits proposal if necessary day of submission deadline
