Campus Center Meeting and Events Spaces

The Campus Center (1C) is conveniently located in the center of the 204-acre College of Staten Island Campus. In the Campus Center, small and large event spaces can accommodate parties, dances, concerts, ceremonies, lectures, conferences, dinners, and more! 

The Green Dolphin Lounge (GDL), located next to the West Dining Room, is a technology-equipped space ideal for dinners, lunches, networking fairs, open mic nights, and lectures.

  • Located on the First Floor of the Campus Center 
  • Ideal for Large Groups (up to 138 people) 
  • Recommended Set Ups
    • Lecture Style: 100 + chairs 
    • Cafe' Style: 1-3 chairs per small table (20 total table maximum) 
    • Dinner Style: 8 chairs per large table (6 minimum and 8 maximum)
  • Room Features Include: 
    • Projector and Screen w/ HDMI connectivity
    • Internal and external sound system w/ Auxiliary Cord connectivity
    • Stage Lights 
    • Wired and wireless microphones (one for the internal sound system) 
    • Audio Mixer 
    • Dimmable Overhead lights
    • A movable wall that can be fully closed for maximum privacy.
  • This room is able to be combined with the West Dining Room for Larger Events such as graduations, ceremonies, or dances. 
  • 1,857 Square Feet 

The West Dining Room (WDR), located next to the Green Dolphin Lounge, is an additional room that can extend the Green Dolphin Lounge for large events. This space is ideal for group lunches/dinners, dances, and conference networking.

  • Located on the first floor of the Campus Center
  • Ideal for large groups (160 maximum): 
    • Combined with the GDL: 250 Maximum 
    • Combined with Rotunda: 250 Maximum
  • Recommended Types of Events/Set-Ups:
    • Dinner Style: Rounds w/ 6 chairs 
    • Networking Fair: Rectangle Tables for vendors/participants
  • Internal and external sound system w/ Auxiliary Cord connectivity
  • Overhead lights cannot be dimmed.
  • 6,621 square feet. 

 

On the second floor of the Campus Center there are two smart conference rooms. 

Room 1C-227 Features:

  • Computer w/ FLAS log-in capabilities 
  • Audio and Visual equipment connected to the computer
  • Conference Tables are already in place
  • Telephone 
  • Webcam is available upon request
  • Ideal for small groups, presentations, meetings, and interviews (15 Maximum)
  • 347 Square Feet.

Room 1C-215 Features:

  • Audio and visual connectivity via HDMI and Auxiliary Cord
    • HDMI and Auxiliary cord are already provided in the room
  • A laptop is needed for overhead audio and visual. 
    • VGI to HDMI adapter available upon request. 
  • Ideal for small groups, presentations, meetings, and interviews (10 Maximum) 
  • 270 Square Feet.

 

The Rotunda in the Campus Center serves as the center of the building. The venue is unique, with its circle structure surrounded by natural sunlight. This Rotunda is ideal for poster presentations, dances, lunches, dinners, ultimate gaming events, resource fairs, and conference networking. 

  • Located on the first floor of the Campus Center. 
  • Ideal for medium to large groups (150 Maximum)
    • Available to be combined with West Dining Room and Green Dolphin Lounge (425 Maximum) 
  • The Rotunda can be cleared of the tables and chairs for your ideal event. 
  • External audio and a compact projector are available upon request.
  • 2,381 Sqaure Feet

The Bijou Movie Theatre in the Campus Center is designed as an on-campus movie theater with a Samsung 75-inch LED Display, flat-screen HD television, Bose surround sound, and oversized, comfy lounge chairs. During the academic year, the Bijou plays movies purchased by the Campus Activities Board. In addition to a movie theater, the Bijou can host small meetings and lectures. 

  • It is located on the Second Floor of the Campus Center.
  • Ideal for smaller groups (30 Maximum).
  • Oversized, comfy lounge chairs.
  • HDMI Connectivity to the Television for Audio and Visual. 
  • This space is designated for internal groups only during the Academic year. 
  • 473 Square feet.
 
  • Faculty, Staff, College Administrators, and CSI Employees must:
    • Email StudentLife@csi.cuny.edu with your request to the Office Assistant for Student Life, Donna Gildea, at donna.gildea@csi.cuny.edu.
      • Include Date
      • Location(s)
      • Event Start time and Event End Time.
    • Once the request is confirmed in writing, the host(s) will receive the next steps for submitting any technical/set-up requests.
    • Should you have any questions or concerns, please visit the Office of Student Life at 1C-201, call 718.982.3088, or email StudentLife@csi.cuny.edu.
  • The hosting department is responsible for staffing fees for events requiring unique setups, technical equipment/assistance, and after-hours support. 
  • Requests are not confirmed until you receive a written email notification from the Office of Student Life. 
  • Students, clubs, and organizations must complete the "Create Event" feature in CSI Connect:

  • Email Associate Director for Student Life and Operations, Tyler McLoughlin, at Tyler.McLoughlin@csi.cuny.edu with the following:
    • Proposed Date. 
    • Proposed Time.
    • Proposed Attendance. 
  • The Associate Director will work with the client(s) to schedule a walk-thru of the proposed space(s) and discuss event logistics and associated charges.
