Professor Gross has been in the field of social work since 1988. She has taught on the Adjunct Faculty of New York University's Silver School of Social Work since 1990. She has taught courses on working with Substance Abusers and their Families; Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgendered persons, Human Behavior in the Social Environment, Social Work Practice and Multiculturalism. In addition, her academic interests include transracial and transcultural Adoption and social work and the world of work. Professor Gross worked in the 'Employee Assistance Program of the New York City Transit Authority where she was in involved in implementing the New York State Mandated program on Intimate Partner Violence in the Workplace.
