Dr. J. George Wang is a Professor of Finance and Chair of the Department of Accounting and Finance in the School of Business at the College of Staten Island of the City University of New York, and a visiting professor at HSBC Business School of Peking University. Dr. Wang is the editor of the book series SMEs in China, by Springer Publisher; a guest speaker of Biz Today, a flagship program of China Radio International (CRI); and an invited column commentator on the G7/G20 Think Tank website based at the University of Toronto. Dr. Wang has published many articles in major business and economics journals in the US, Europe and China, and is the author (or co-author) and editor (or co-editor) of several books on China’s SMEs and internet finance. Dr. Wang is also an invited keynote speaker at many national and international business conferences, a moderator of dialogues with some well-known world business and political leaders, and an interviewee on many leading media outlets worldwide including ABC News (USA), Financial Times (UK), Le Monde (France), and International Business Daily (China).

Dr. Wang’s current research focuses on forecasting evaluation methodologies, probability forecasts, corporate social responsibility, and small business financing and internet financing issues. He has published in Business Economics, Journal of Forecasting, International Journal of Forecasting, Applied Economics Letters, Forecasting Letters, Pennsylvania Journal of Business and Economics, Handbook of Statistics – Statistic Method in Finance, American Statistical Association Proceedings, and some leading economics journals in China, including the Journal of Economic Research, Journal of Quantitative and Technical Economics, Journal of World Economy, and Journal of Economic References. He has also written chapters in several influential books in China. He has been a visiting professor at HSBC Business School at Peking University, the School of Management at Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, and the Sydney Institute of Commerce of Shanghai University, and was invited to be a member of the Advisory Board of the International Business School of Beijing Normal University (Zhuhai Campus). He is a referee for several academic journals including the International Journal of Forecasting (IJF) and Journal of Business Ethics (JBE). Dr. Wang’s co-authored papers on interest rate spread as a predictor of the US business cycle and the use of non-linear Markov process to predict the cyclical turning points are well cited in economics literature.
