Dr. Dan Zhang earned her Ph.D. in Business Administration from the Fox School of Business, Temple University. Prior to moving to the U.S., she was Assistant Professor of Art Design at Renmin University of China, Beijing. As an industrial designer, she participated in various product development projects in different industries including electronics, telecommunication, machinery, etc. Being on the Project Review Board of Beijing Governmental Procurement Center, she has contributed to notable review projects involving the Capital Museum of China and Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. She has been listed in Cambridge Who’s Who since 2009.
Since 2007, Dr. Zhang has taught undergraduate and graduate courses including Consumer Behavior, Global Marketing Strategy, High-Tech Product Design and Development, International Marketing, Marketing Research, Principles of Marketing, etc. Her current research interests are product development and innovation, psychology of aesthetics and expertise, consumer judgment and decision making, sensory marketing, sustainable marketing, and luxury branding.

Dr. Zhang has published in the Journal of Product Innovation Management, the Journal of Global Fashion Marketing, and the Advances in International Marketing. She has presented papers at conferences such as Association for Consumer Research (ACR) Annual Conference, Product Development and Management Association (PDMA) Academic Research Forum, American Marketing Association (AMA) Higher Education Conference, etc. She has received research funds from the CIBER and the Grant-In-Aid at Temple University as well as awards including Dean's Outstanding Publication Award, Winner of Dissertation Proposal Competition, etc. Her research during her appointment as Assistant Professor of Art Design at Renmin University of China has been seen in leading Chinese journals in design, arts, and art education.
