Dr. Alexandra Hoffmann-Steiman, DNP, FNP-BC is a doctorly prepared Family Nurse Practitioner board certified by ANCC, specializing in internal medicine in the primary and urgent care clinic setting for over ten years. Her research focused on Global Health Epidemiology and Disaster Emergency Management. Her extensive doctoral training focused on Emergency Management including Epidemiology, Microbiology, Infection Control and World Health disaster prevention recovery and response. She developed an educational video on Emergency Disaster Management for the geriatric and pediatric population published in "The DNP Journal Inc". She has been a registered nurse for over twenty years and has practiced in various settings such as the MICU at RUMC and NYP Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in the Medical Surgical Orthopedic Rehabilitation unit. She has dedicated her adjunct career, as a clinical professor, educating undergraduate and graduate students among various practice settings of the inpatient unit of the hospital including telemetry, ventilation unit, medical-surgical and pre/post op surgical unit and in the primary care clinic. She obtained the FUSE High Fidelity Simulation certification from NYU, a special recognition for clinical excellence and plans to develop further research in nursing education for the next generation of future student nurses and implement the use for nurse practitioner students. She is part of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society Mu Upsilon Chapter, a prestigious Nursing society, a member of The Nurse Practitioner Association of Staten Island region and is part of CSI Alumni Association and Wagner College Alumni.
She enjoys attending medical conferences, traveling and vacationing with her family, and baking.
