Aleksín H. Ortega received his academic degrees from three CUNY schools. His areas of specialization are Colonial Spanish American Literature in the Andean region, and Heritage language Teaching and Second Language Pedagogy.
Aleksín has worked also as a free-lance translator for many years. He currently volunteers as a translator for TED.
