About the divisions and schools. The College of Staten Island (CSI) is a senior college of The City University of New York (CUNY). CSI offers a broad range of academic programs in the liberal arts and sciences, and the professions that lead to associate's, bachelor's, and master's degrees. Select doctoral programs are also available on campus in collaboration with The CUNY Graduate Center. From undergraduate research to working on doctoral theses, students at the College of Staten Island are provided with the tools and opportunities they need to make positive contributions to society.
Division of Humanities & Social Sciences
At the heart of a great college are the disciplines of the humanities and social sciences. Our division includes departments teaching the full range of these disciplines: literature, history, performing and creative arts, media, world languages, psychology, sociology, anthropology, philosophy, political science, and geography. The division also focuses on applying theory to practice by preparing future teachers, and mental health counselors. In total, nine academic departments and ten interdisciplinary programs provide a rich curriculum to all 14,000 students enrolled at CSI through general education, baccalaureate majors, minors, associate, certificate and graduate programs.

The Division of Science and Technology! DST offers a richness of programs in the natural sciences, computer sciences, engineering, and mathematics that range from associate to doctoral degrees, with lot of emphasis on interdisciplinary education. Our students are trained by a very diverse group of faculty, working at cutting-edge problems in STEM areas, with outstanding credentials and international recognition.

The Lucille and Jay Chazanoff School of Business at the College of Staten Island prepares and shapes business leaders for the New York metropolitan region and beyond. Built on a legacy of teaching, scholarship, and professional engagement the School of Business offers strong programs that combine business discipline skills, exposure to the latest technology, and the breadth of the liberal arts and sciences through its comprehensive curricula.

The School of Education at CSI has historical roots spanning more than four decades, with a strong and growing network of professionals who have taken their place in leadership positions in the field of education. CSI has nearly 700 of its recent graduates teaching in Staten Island public schools today, with more than 500 others found in positions elsewhere in the city and beyond. Many of our alumni are now serving in leadership positions, well prepared by our nationally accredited programs. Each degree and certificate program is committed to the development of intellectual autonomy and professional responsibility in students of diverse academic and cultural backgrounds.

CSI’s School of Health Sciences has faculty who contribute innovative research while caring deeply about clinical and professional education, and preparing students for personally fulfilling and rewarding careers in the health professions. Our accredited programs in Nursing, Physical Therapy, and Social Work attract students from throughout the metro region, United States and overseas, and our alumni thrive in fields which improve the quality of human life while offering graduates excellent employment prospects.
