LSC has been hosting its Space Talk series since 2022, in which prominent astronomers bring their work to life on the Center’s 90-foot dome, the largest planetarium in the U.S. Dr. Liu will be the speaker at 7:00pm and will present the topic: “A Trillion Pixels a Night: Mapping the Cosmos with the Vera Rubin Observatory.” Named for astronomer Vera Rubin, who provided the first convincing evidence of the existence of dark matter, the new observatory in Chile will be the first of its kind in terms of design and technology.
