FALL 2024 ACADEMIC CALENDAR
August 28-December 21, 2024

August 27 Tuesday

Last day for 100% tuition refund.

Last day for departments to submit course substitution requests.
August 28 Wednesday

Classes begin.

Registration for senior citizens begins.
September 2 Monday College closed.
September 3 Tuesday

Last day to add a course for the 15-week and the 1st and 2nd 7.5-week sessions. Last day to drop with a 75% refund.

Financial Aid Certification Enrollment Status Date.
September 4 Wednesday

Verification of Enrollment Rosters available to faculty.

Grade of WD is assigned to students who officially drop a course.
September 10 Tuesday Last day to drop with a 50% refund.
September 17 Tuesday

Census date (Form A) for fall term. Last day to drop with a 25% refund. Last day to drop without a grade of W.

Last day to change or declare a major/minor to be effective for the fall term. Verification of Enrollment Rosters due from faculty.

Last day to register for an independent study course for the fall term.
September 18 Wednesday

Course withdrawal period begins. A grade of W is assigned to students who officially drop a class. Students are responsible for 100% of tuition for dropped courses.

WN grades assigned.
September 27 Friday WA grades assigned for MMR immunization non-compliance.
October 1 Tuesday Last day to file for January 2025 graduation.
October 2-4 Wednesday-Friday No classes scheduled.
October 11-12 Friday-Saturday No classes scheduled.
October 14 Monday College closed.
October 15 Tuesday Classes follow Monday schedule.
November 5 Tuesday Last day to select pass/fail grading option for eligible courses. 60% date for the fall term.
November 6 Wednesday Course withdrawal period ends: last day to drop a course with a grade of W for the fall term (15-week regular session).
November 27 Wednesday Classes follow Friday schedule.
November 28-December 1 Thursday-Sunday College closed.
December 14 Saturday

Last day to remove INC grades from the Spring 2024 and Summer 2024 semesters.

Last day of regularly-scheduled classes.
December 15 Sunday Grade rosters for Fall 2024 open in CUNYfirst.
December 15-21 Sunday-Saturday

Final Examination Period.

  • Sunday, December 15: Final exams for all Sunday-only classes.
  • Monday, December 16: Final exams for Monday/Wednesday classes and all Monday-only classes. Departmental final exams for CSC 126.
  • Tuesday, December 17: Final exams for Tuesday/Thursday classes and all Tuesday-only classes. Departmental final exams for CHM.
  • Wednesday, December 18: Final exams for Monday/Wednesday classes and all Wednesday-only classes.
  • Thursday, December 19: Final exams for Tuesday/Thursday classes and all Thursday-only classes. Departmental final exams for MTH given during Club Hours only (2:30-4:25pm).
  • Friday, December 20: Final exams for all Friday-only classes. Departmental final exams for BIO.
  • Saturday, December 21: Final exams for all Saturday-only classes.

Regular final exams for all synchronous classes (which include time patterns in CUNYfirst) are to be given during their regularly scheduled meeting time, following the schedule above. Since asynchronous classes do not have scheduled meeting times, final exam arrangements for non-departmental exams may vary.

December 24-25 Tuesday-Wednesday College closed.
December 27 Friday Grade rosters for Fall 2024 close tonight at 11:59pm.
December 31-January 1 Tuesday-Wednesday College closed.
January 1, 2025 Wednesday Last day to request freshman forgiveness for earned F grades: Fall 2024 must be first term of attendance as a matriculated freshman to be eligible.
